The Calvin Swim Club Mission

Calvin Swim Club is coached by current Calvin College swim team members. Our goal is to facilitate a structured training environment that provides a combination of fitness, instruction, and fun. Calvin Swim Club is a member of the WMSL (West Michigan Swim League) and USA Swimming.

Character Development through Athletics

Calvin Swim Club is dedicated to developing and fostering the personal, physical, and intellectual skills of student athletes through the sport of competitive swimming.  We value the timeless lessons learned through athletic participation and celebrate the pursuit of excellence both in and out of the pool. Club Website

The team website Is the information hub for Calvin Swim Club. On it, you’ll find information regarding the upcoming in current season, swim Meet registration forms and Information packets, athlete registration, and a team store where you can purchase custom Calvin gear. The website also hosts a newsfeed/forum that acts as a platform for getting out valuable information including practice cancellations, meet scheduling changes, upcoming deadlines and event date reminders.

  • Online Meet Entries

    1. Signing up for a swim meet is easy using the RSVP features on the team website. To see a list of the upcoming events/swim meets, click on the “EVENTS” tab  on the top menu of the website.

    2. On the events page, expand the event tap to view more information about the swim meet or event you want to register for. Event details such as warm up times, start times, event locations, entry deadlines, and other details can be found here. Click the “Sign-up” button to begin the registration process.

    3. On the event registration page, you can scroll down and view more information about the event or click “Register Now” to begin adding your registration details.

    4. When adding athlete registration details for example, make sure to input the athlete’s complete first and last name, current email address, athlete date of birth, current phone number to reach you at, and any event requests you have.

    5. When submitting an event request, it is important to submit the correct event name and number. It is important to double check the meet information packet for the accurate event number if the meet packet is provided.

    6. Most events have registration deadlines. Please submit all online registrations before the registration deadlines to ensure you are placed in the event.

  • Online Volunteer Registration

    1. For some swim meets, mainly swim meets we host at the Venema Aquatic Center at Calvin College, we may ask for volunteers to help out with the event as a backup timer, or a heat sheet seller, someone to help with athlete check in.

    2. A Signup Genius form link for the volunteer sign-up will be hyperlinked in a detailed post about the event on the “NEWS” page of the Calvin Swim Club website.

    3. On the Signup Genius website created specifically for the event, you will see information about the event and a list of open job positions represented on the sign up page as “slots”. Each slot represents a single job position and contains details about the start time and approximate finish time of the job along with and a brief description of the job and job requirements.

    4. Click the “Sign-Up” button to check the box for the available slots you wish to sign up for, then click the “Submit and Sign Up” button at the bottom of the page to finish signing up.

    5. You can register multiple people for job positions as long as there are still openings, for example, if a parent would like to also sign up a sibling to help be a backup timer for a swim meet, you can change the quantity of the position to reflect that more than one person is signing up. For organizational purposes, it will be useful to leave the name of the second or third or fourth additional worker in “My Comment” box.

    6. Once you are finished entering the quantity and any additional comments regarding your position or positions, click the “Sign Up Now” button to complete the signup process. You will be sent a verification email notifying you that you have completed the sign up process for the event, and a reminder notification will be sent to you automatically a week prior to the event date. If you have to cancel for any reason, please contact a coach or responsible administrator in a timely matter about the change.
